Step 1 of 6
Prepare the Area

Remove vehicles, planters, and furniture. Sweep away loose debris. Cover nearby plants and electrical outlets with plastic sheeting.
Warning
Pressure washers can cause serious injury. Never point the wand at people or pets.
Step 2 of 6
Pre-Treat Stains

Apply concrete detergent or degreaser to oil stains and heavily soiled areas. Let it soak for 5-10 minutes. This gives the chemicals time to break down the stains.
Step 3 of 6
Set Up the Pressure Washer

Connect the garden hose and high-pressure hose. Select the appropriate nozzle — 25° (green) for general cleaning. Start with lower pressure and increase as needed.
Step 4 of 6
Wash in Sections

Work in manageable 4x4 foot sections. Hold the wand 12 inches from the surface. Use overlapping strokes at a consistent angle. Work from the highest point downward.
Tip
A surface cleaner attachment makes even, streak-free work much faster on large areas.
Step 5 of 6
Rinse Thoroughly

Switch to a 40° (white) nozzle or remove the nozzle for lower pressure. Rinse the entire driveway from top to bottom, pushing dirty water toward the street.
Step 6 of 6
Apply Sealer (Optional)

For long-lasting results, apply a concrete sealer after the driveway has dried completely (24-48 hours). This prevents future staining and makes cleaning easier.
Pro Tip
Seal your concrete every 2-3 years to maintain that freshly cleaned look.
